Minneapolis Farmers Market

One of my favorite things to do on a weekend morning is stop by the farmers market to get some hot breakfast and fresh produce. The Minneapolis Farmers Market on Lyndale is huge, and the prices are hard to beat. I always get a $6 bouquet of fresh flowers from my favorite flower vendor, and load up on whatever is in season in my market bag and backpack.

Since visiting this farmers market for the first time can be overwhelming, here are my Top 7 tips for visiting the Minneapolis Farmers Market on Lyndale!
1. Stop by early in the morning on Saturday/Sunday. The market opens at 6 am and it is a lot easier to park and walk around at this time.
2. If your schedule allows it, visit on a weekday – Fridays have the largest selection compared to other weekdays.
3. Make a shopping list before visiting; use the market’s website for a general idea of what’s in season.
4. Carry cash, since most vendors do not take credit cards.
5. There are multiple vendors with mix and match “2 for $5” deals (vs. $3 each), so it’s generally a good strategy to shop there first so you can take advantage of the discounts.
6. Quince Mpls Market has an incredible $10 breakfast burrito (which can definitely feed two people), but it is so popular that there is generally a long wait time after ordering. Stop by to order your burrito before making your last couple of vendor stops to cut on idle wait time.
7. The market is open year-round, rain or shine, and has Christmas trees and ornaments from mid-November until December 24th, so don’t let the cold stop you from enjoying the farmers market fun!

That’s all I’ve got for today! Now grab those reusable bags and head over for some delicious eats and fresh produce.
